Now if you know me, you would be able to guess that my favorite musician is, Taylor Swift, and you would have guessed incorrectly. Yes, it's true. I'm probably the only 17 year old girl you know that doesn't like Taylor Swift, but hey, I'll take pride in it. I also take pride in my obsession over singer Katy Perry. Pop music is an influence to not only myself, but many others of all age groups. Whether its Katy Perry (the queen herself), Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, Michael Jackson, or even Taylor Swift. Pop artists have continued to write/produce/preform music that influences not only their fans, but anyone who enjoys listening to their music.
Regardless of your race, gender, or religion pop music is something that can bring people together no matter what. If you're going through something in life, it's super easy to just throw on a song and let loose. Music is able to communicate with us not only spiritually, but it almost also feels physically. Pop artists are so impactful on today's society that they influence our choices and lives. If you are like me and your favorite artist does something to themselves, let's say changes their look, you're more apt to make the same changes.
Pop artists have been with us for what it seems like has been eternities, and they're not going "out of style" anytime soon. They play huge roles in our entertainment, they're basically everywhere you look. We can't go grocery shopping without seeing their faces plastered on magazines, we can't go on social media without seeing their tweets, posts, or ads. Like it or not, pop artists are here to stay.
Quote of the day: "Sometimes life gets so difficult that you just need to laugh about it." - Katy Perry
